Old scholar back at St Brigid’s

IT did not take long for the newest teacher assistant to settle in at St Brigid’s Catholic School last term. Employed on an AFL Sports Ready traineeship, Aidan Featherstone is an old scholar who has returned to the school in his quest to become a teacher.

Aidan, 18, attended the school from Kindergarten through to Grade 6, and has returned after six years during which he attended St Virgil’s College and Guilford Young College. In fact, the Kinder class from his final year at St Brigid’s are this year’s Grade 6 students, so he has found plenty of familiar faces in both the classroom and the staffroom.

A keen sportsman with a particular passion for soccer, he said he had been encouraged to pursue a career in education by the parents of children he coaches. Originally from Ellendale, he lives at Magra with his family and is enjoying being back at St Brigid’s.
