TWO Hobart-based newspapers today reported that the New Norfolk Distillery had withdrawn its offer to buy two buildings from the Derwent Valley Council at the Willow Court historic site. In a Facebook post this evening (Wednesday), a distillery spokesperson said the business had set a deadline for the council to organise a meeting to explain how it intends to “present actionable items” at the June council meeting. The business has not communicated with New Norfolk and Derwent Valley News at the time of writing and we have sought clarification on the contents of the Facebook post before publishing further on the matter.
