New dates for Bridgewater and Granton traffic changes

ROADS Tasmania has announced new dates for upcoming traffic changes around the area of the new Bridgewater Bridge construction sites. The new dates are:

  • Black Snake Rd, Granton: Work being carried out on the night of Wednesday, May 24, with a new off-ramp opening on morning of Thursday, May 25.
  • Gunn St, Bridgewater: Work being carried out on the night of Thursday, May 25, with a new Gunn St off-ramp opening on morning of Friday, May 26.

A Roads Tasmania spokesperson apologised for any convenience to the original schedule and said updates would be provided of any further changes. The new dates mean:

  • From Friday, May 26, access to Gunn St from the McDonald’s roundabout will close. There will be a new temporary connection to Gunn St that will be left-in and left-out. This change will allow for construction of the northern abutment of the new bridge.
  • From Thursday, May 25, a new temporary connection will be open at Granton for southbound Midland Hwy and Lyell Hwy traffic accessing Main Rd and Black Snake Lane, Granton. This will allow for the construction of the southern bridge abutment.
