Severe weather warning cancelled

AFTER a night of high winds throughout the state, the Bureau of Meteorology has cancelled the weather warning that had been in place in much of the state including the Derwent Valley and Central Highlands.

“Severe weather is no longer occurring in the King Island, Furneaux Islands, Western, Upper Derwent Valley, South East, North West Coast and Central Plateau districts and the warning for these districts is cancelled,” the Bureau notified at 11am.

A severe weather warning for damaging winds remains in place for people in East Coast and parts of North East, Central North and Midlands Forecast Districts.
