Off to Pontville for Browning Memorial Day

ALL teams are on the road today (Saturday, June 24) as they travel to Pontville Oval for four matches against Brighton Robins. It will be a big day, with a ticketed lunch for the annual Brighton Football Club Brendon Browning Memorial Day.

The day honours Brendon Browning, a respected New Norfolk, Hobart and Brighton player who lost his life to melanoma in 2020, aged only 48. Funds raised on the day will support Melanoma Institute Australia’s world- class research, treatment, and education programs.

The New Norfolk District Football Club is proud to be associated with the Brighton Football Club in supporting this special day. More information can be found on the Brighton Football Club’s Facebook page.

MATCH PREVIEWS

THE Colts will face a difficult task against the second-placed Robins on their home turf at 10am but we hope to see a better performance from the boys after having a shocker against Claremont last weekend. The Reserves will be full of confidence after a morale-boosting win against Claremont, but will face stiffer opposition against the Robins at noon.

The Seniors, while disappointed at the narrow loss to Claremont, will be looking for more improvement against the third-placed Robins in their encounter at 2pm. It will be another tough assignment, but we look forward to the challenge. The Senior Women find themselves playing the last game of the day at 4.30pm. After competing against stronger opposition over the last few weeks the Eagles will be confident of a good showing against the Robins under lights.
