Highlands shack destroyed in morning fire

THE Tasmania Fire Service says a highlands shack was destroyed by fire this morning (July 11). “Around 7am this morning, emergency services attended a structure fire on Highland Lakes Rd at Miena,” a TFS spokesperson said.

The main dwelling on the property was destroyed despite the best efforts of fore crews from Great Lake, Arthurs Lake, Bothwell, Golden Valley, Deloraine and Kempton.

A second building on the property was not damaged and no one was present at the address at the time of the fire. An investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
