Round 15: Three games of footy at Boyer Oval

TOMORROW (Saturday, July 22), the New Norfolk District Football Club has three games on the big Boyer Oval. The Senior Women line up against the South East Suns in the first game on the program at 10am. Coming off a 48-point loss in their previous game against top-of-the-ladder Lauderdale, the Eagles will be looking to get back on the winners list and keep their finals aspirations alive. Based on previous performances this is a game that the Lady Eagles would be expected to win.

The Reserves line up against Sorell in a tough encounter at noon. The Eagles have had two narrow losses and a good performance against Lindisfarne last weekend, and may be in with a chance to record a win against sixth-placed Sorell on their home turf. The Seniors will also play Sorell in another tough game at 2pm. With some improved form over the last few rounds and an encouraging game against Lauderdale last weekend, the Eagles will be hopeful of a good performance after a relatively close encounter the last time these sides met. The Colts have another bye on Saturday. See you at the footy.

MILESTONE GAME

TOMORROW will see a legend of the New Norfolk District Football Club play his 200th club game. Michael Thompson played his first game for the club in 2004 and has now tallied up 190 Senior games and 10 Reserve games. He came out of retirement this season to help the club out as we were struggling for numbers in the Reserves. Congratulations Michael on a fabulous career. The NNDFC sincerely thanks you for your support this season.

FUTURE GAMES

THE Senior Women will play Claremont at Boyer Oval at 10am on July 29, but the men’s competition will be on a bye. The following week will see the Eagles travel to Huonville on August 5 for four games against the local sides. Times are yet to be confirmed but the Senior Men, Senior Women, Reserves and Colts will all feature in this Derwent Valley v Huon Valley derby.
