Boy dies following Lyell Hwy incident

A TEENAGE boy involved in a crash on the Lyell Hwy near Sorell Creek last month has died in hospital, Tasmania Police announced this afternoon. The youth, 16, was walking along the highway at night on July 23 when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle.

“Sadly, the 16-year-old pedestrian involved … has died in hospital,” a police spokesperson said today. “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and loved ones of the youth. The police investigation into the crash is ongoing with a report is being prepared for the coroner.”
