Do you want to have an experience where you are given the opportunity to invest in your future over a two-year term, are paid to learn and work on-the-job in heavy industry?

| The opportunity
Commence into a two-year Fixed-Term contract with one of Tasmania’s iconic heavy industrial processing and manufacturing organisations. Along the way, you will be equipped with industry knowledge and hands-on experience. You will work with a registered training provider to complete a Certificate III in Competitive Systems and Practices.

| Who we are
Norske Skog is a world-leading producer of publication paper, packaging paper and Energy & Bio products. Our Boyer Mill produces around 265,000 tonnes of paper annually, using sustainable forestry. We are a large industrial site and pride ourselves on our values of Openness, Honesty and Cooperation.

Our Boyer Mill opened in 1941 and is located on the Derwent River, 30 minutes from Hobart. We continue to be one of the State’s major economic export contributors and employers within Southern Tasmania.

| What type of applicant are we seeking?
The successful candidate will have the following:
 Health, safety and environment focus
 Experience working within a team environment and meet KPI targets
 Sound communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with minimal supervision
 Effective problem-solving skills (handling internal customer service issues)
 Ability to work a 12-hr rotational shift (including nights, weekends and public holidays)
 Demonstrated strong computer systems experience, including Microsoft Suite skills

| Job specifications:
The main duties include but not limited to:
 Operating Production equipment in the Machine Room
 Processing rolls of paper
 Quality control of customer orders
 Ensuring plant and equipment is prepared, operated and shutdown

  1. I live in WESTERWAY and would be interested in the position nice and close to home. When I first came to Tasmania you had an open day it was great and I thought to myself this would be the perfect place to work, now I have a chance to go for it.
