AUTHORITIES will investigate a fire that badly damaged two buildings at New Norfolk’s Kensington Park Racecourse this morning. Fire crews arrived at about 8.30am and they suspect that the fire had been burning overnight.
The blaze was in a toilet block and an adjoining shed in an area known as the Eric Fleming Stables at the disused racecourse in Kensington St.
“TFS crews arrived to find smoke issuing from a toilet block at this premises,” a Tasmania Fire Service spokesperson said.
“The fire has been burning overnight in an old toilet block and a shed [and] some property inside the shed has been destroyed.
“A fire investigation is being arranged for today,” the spokesperson said.
