ITEMS stolen from New Norfolk were allegedly among property seized during a police search at Risdon Vale last week. Following the search, two Two Risdon Vale men were charged with multiple offences.
“Police executed search warrants at three addresses in Risdon Vale, seizing a stolen firearm, firearm parts, a substantial amount of stolen property including three e-bikes, three motorcycles, a ride-on lawnmower, tools and jewellery,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson said. “Police also seized various illicit and prescription-only drugs and drug-related items.”
Police will allege that the recovered property was stolen from across southern Tasmania, including Kettering, Sandy Bay, Hobart, Glenorchy, Austins Ferry, New Norfolk, Geilston Bay and Seven Mile Beach.
Two Risdon Vale men, aged 32 and 27, were charged with numerous burglary, stealing, property and drug offences. The 32-year-old man was also charged on other matters and was detained to appear in in the Hobart Magistrates Court. A third man from Campania, aged 32, was also arrested and detained to appear in court.
“Investigations are continuing regarding the seized firearm and firearm parts,” the police spokesperson said. “Anyone with information relating to stolen firearms or property is asked to contact police on 131 444 or report to crimestopperstas.com.au – information can be provided anonymously.”
