Under-14 Boys (30 overs): New Norfolk 8/203 (30 overs) defeated Gretna 5/88 (30 overs). The New Norfolk team travelled to Gretna and batted first. Angus Fraser (63) and Jude Bannister (60) led the batting stats with both passing their half centuries to help the team post 203. With the ball Bannister had another good innings picking up three wickets. Batting: Angus Fraser 63 from 47no (3 x 6s, 7 x 4s),Jude Bannister 60 from 42no (2 x 6s, 9 x 4s), Bowling: Jude Bannister 3 for 8 from 4, private player two wickets.
Under-16 Boys: New Norfolk forfeited to Gretna.
Under-16 Girls (20 overs): New Norfolk 80 lost to Clarence 175 at Lindisfarne on Tuesday. Angel Green top-scored with 18 including a lovely 6 and Addysen Nossiter scored 16. The pair were also the pick of the bowlers. Batting: Green 18 from 18 (1 x 6, 1 x 4), Addysen Nossiter 16 from 18 (3 x 4s). Bowling: Nossiter 1 for 7 from 2 overs, Green 1 for 27 from 4 overs.
Stage 1* (20 overs): New Norfolk 91 defeated Gretna 83 on Monday. Batting: Arlo Simpson 9 from 13 (1 x 4), Edward Mayne 7 from 13 (1 x 4). Bowling: Florentine Simpson 2 for 6 from overs, Parker Brown 1 catch and 3 runouts.
GRETNA
Under-14s (30 overs): Gretna 5/88 lost to New Norfolk 8/203. Playing at home in the match described above, Gretna put in the hard yards to face out their overs but fell short in runs.
Ryan Jones top-scored with 14, which included two nice fours, and Lucas Jones was the pick of the bowlers, taking three good wickets. Batting: Ryan Jones 14 from 43no (2 x 4s), Jack Cunningham 11 from 31 (1 x 4). Bowling: Lucas Jones 3 for 14 from 3, Jack Embrey 1 for 10 from 2.
Under-16s: Gretna defeated New Norfolk due to forfeit.
Stage 1* (20 overs): Gretna 83 lost to New Norfolk 91. Batting: Connor Jones 10 from 13, Alex Bailey 6 from 13. Bowling: Oscar Wakefield 2 for 3 from 3 overs, Connor Jones 2 for 6 from 2.
*Stage 1 cricket is the entry level competition. Each team faces 20 overs (120 balls). Each player faces the same
number of balls when batting (120 divided by the amount of batters). If a player gets out they continue to bat with four bonus runs being awarded to the bowling team. Wides and no-balls are not replayed and are counted as balls faced.
