Service of thanksgiving for teacher Christine

A SERVICE of thanksgiving will be held on Monday at St Matthew’s Anglican Church in New Norfolk to celebrate the life of respected local educator Christine Woolley. Mrs Woolley died at her home in New Norfolk on November 4 after a brief illness.

The well-known teacher was one of the founders of the Northern Suburbs Christian School from its origins in temporary premises at Berriedale to its permanent establishment in purpose-built facilities at Bridgewater. After 20 years with the school, she retired as principal. She later took up a position at New Norfolk High School, enjoying the return to being an educator rather than an administrator.

Mrs Woolley is survived by her husband Martin, their children Peter and Naomi, and four grandchildren. A service of Thanksgiving will be held at 1.30pm on November 30 at St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Bathurst Street, New Norfolk. Family and friends are invited to attend and encouraged to wear bright colours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Council at the service.

The service will be broadcast online at www.grahamfamilyfunerals.com.au/funerals
