Fuel Reduction Burn Smoke Alert – Claremont, Granton and Surrounding Areas – Avoid smoke

This is a smoke alert message for Claremont, Granton and Surrounding Areas – Avoid smoke.

There is a Fuel Reduction Burn at the Russell Fire Trail, Claremont. There is no threat to communities. The smoke is expected to disperse within the next three hours

What to do:

People at higher risk from the effects of smoke, including those with medical conditions, are advised to have a personal plan for avoiding smoke from the burn and managing their health.

If you are in the area, be careful if you are driving in smoke. Turn on your headlights and drive slowly and be aware there may be fire crews working on the burn.
