Man in custody after firearm incident

A MAN was taken into custody following a disturbance during which gun shots were allegedly fired in New Norfolk on Sunday night. A Tasmania Police spokesperson said multiple calls had been received about a disturbance and multiple gun shots heard in the vicinity of Benjamin Terrace and Fitzgerald Crescent at about 9.45pm on Sunday.

“Tasmania Police attended the scene and spoke with the occupants of two residences identified as being involved in the matter,” the spokesperson said. “There were no reported injuries and the parties involved are known to one another.  As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old man was taken into custody and is assisting police with their investigation. “
