Stage 1 cricket resumes for second half of the season

STAGE 1 cricket is the entry-level competition play. Each team faces 20 overs (120 balls) and each player faces the same number balls when batting (120 divided by the number of batters). If a player gets out they continue to bat with four bonus runs being awarded to the bowling team. Wides and no-balls are not replayed and are counted as balls faced.

These are the results of the local Stage 1 games played on January 29.

New Norfolk (100) lost to UTAS White (192). Batters: Arlo Simpson 31 from 24 (4 x 4s), Daniel Limbrick 24 from 24 (3 x 4s). Bowling: Daniel Limbrick 2 for 41 from six overs.

Gretna Green (151) defeated New Town Green (138). Batters: Alex Bailey 33 from 18 (1 x 6, 5 x 4s), Ashton Bailey 30 from 17 (2 x 6s, 3 x 4s). Bowlers: Jacob Jones 2 for 8 from 2, Amelia Ransley 2 for 36 from 4.

Gretna Gold (106) lost to New Town Bucks (126). Batters: Wayde Quinn 15 from 18 (3 x 4s), Brooklyn Harvey 10 for 17 (1 x 4). Bowlers: Brooklyn Harvey 2 for 15 from 3, Ameliah Bartels 1 for 14 from 3.
