Summer ranger program continues at Mt Field

THE Discovery Ranger Summer Program continues at many of the state’s national parks this week, including Mt Field National Park in the Derwent Valley. A Discovery Ranger will offer free fun and educational activities at various times.

MT FIELD SUMMER RANGER PROGRAM

Thursday 11 January 2024
* 11am-1pm: Biology Lab Plant & Animal Identification. Meet outside the Visitor Centre.
* 3-4pm: Create a Food Web. Meet outside the Visitor Centre.

​Friday 12 January 2024
* 11am-1pm: Devil & Bones Discovery Table. Meet outside the Visitor Centre.
* 3-4pm: Russell Falls Guided Walk. Meet at the start of the Russell Falls Track.

​Saturday 13 January 2024
* 11am-12.30pm: Special guest Nita Education Bush Tucker & Cultural Connections Walk. Meet outside the Visitor Centre.
* 3-5pm: X Marks the Spot. Look for Discovery Ranger Tom roving outside the Visitor Centre.

​​Sunday 14 January 2024
* 11am-12:30pm: Special guest Nita Education Bush Tucker & Cultural Connections Walk. Meet outside the Visitor Centre.
2-3pm: Identify That Animal! Meet in the Fagus Room inside the Visitor Centre.

Monday 15 January 2024
* 11am-1pm: Invasive Species Discovery Table. Find us outside the Visitor Centre.
* 3-4pm: Create a Food Web. Find us outside Visitor Centre.​

Thursday 18 January 2024
* 12.30-2.30pm: Devil & Bones Discovery Table. Meet outside the Visitor Centre.
* 3.30-5.30pm: X Marks the Spot. Look for Discovery Ranger Tom roving outside the Visitor Centre. ​

Friday 19 January 2024
* 11am-1pm: Invasive Species Discovery Table. Find us outside the Visitor Centre.
* 3-4pm: Russell Falls Guided Walk. Meet at the start of the Russell Falls Track.

Saturday 20 January 2024
* 11am-1pm: Biology Lab – Plant & Animal Identification. Find us outside the Visitor Centre.
* 2-3pm: Identify That Animal! Meet in the Fagus Room inside the Visitor Centre.

All activities are free but park entry fees apply. Please bring sun and rain protection. Activities may be cancelled in bad weather or unsafe conditions. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Phone Discovery Ranger Tom on 0477 924 020 for any inquiries regarding this program. BE COVID SAFE: do not attend activities if you are unwell or suspect you have been in contact with COVID-19.
