See you on Saturday at the Bushy Park Show

THE Bushy Park Show Society has tonight released the updated program for this Saturday’s 149th Bushy Park Show. The gates at the Bushy Park Showground on Gordon River Rd will open at 9am and entry will cost $7 for adults and $3 for children.


Official Opening
By the show patron, Mrs Christine Downie, on the village green at 11.30am.

Traditional Competitions
Equestrian: 9am
Sheep Judging: 9am
Cattle Judging: 9.30am
Cattle & Sheep Junior Handling: following the judging or just after lunch
Woodchopping: 10am-3pm
Chainsaw Racing: 3–3.45pm
Home Industries: all day in the Styx Shed

Traditional Skill Exhibitions
Blacksmithing by Phil Green – all day in the Derwent Shed
New Norfolk Spinners: Sandra Johnson and friends in the Alcove
Derwent Valley Honey information and sales in the Shoobridge Shed
CWA information homecraft sales in the Styx Shed
CWA Devonshire Teas in the Shoobridge Shed

Entertainment Around Grounds
Live Music with Bridget Pross: 11am-2.30pm outside the Shoobridge Shed
Sands Family Circus performance 12.30 -1pm on the Village Green
Free Circus Skills Workshop: 1pm on the Village Green
Eddie Freeman cChainsaw sculpting: all day down near the cattle judging area
Silent auction for chainsaw carvings – near the animal nursery – all day until 2.30pm
Pandara Kelpies Working Dog Demonstrations: throughout the day
Live Snakes with Justin (reptile display) at the Derwent Shed

Children’s Activities
D’FAT: Lawn games on the oval, all day
Kids Play/rest area at the Tyenna shelter near the village green
Free face painting area at the Tyenna shelter near the village green

Bushy Park Show Society Raffle
Drawn at 2.30pm. Tickets available around the grounds, homecrafts display and Styx shed.
