Adult and youths charged over trail bike incidents

POLICE have charged an adult and three youths and seized four trail bikes following a series of alleged offences in the New Norfolk area. Sergeant Andrea Richardson said that over the past three weeks New Norfolk police had been targeting unregistered trail bikes being ridden on public streets. It was alleged that the riders had committed traffic offences and evaded police. 

“We have charged one adult and three youths with a total of 20 offences and seized four trail bikes,” Sgt Richardson said. “Tasmania Police remains committed to reducing recidivism and enhancing community safety and we’ll  continue to target hooning and unregistered trail bikes in the area.”

Police encourage people to report illegal or anti-social behaviour by calling police on 131 444 or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.  Information can also be provided anonymosly to Crime Stoppers Tasmania on 1800 333 000 or at crimestopperstas.com.au.
