Biggest-ever edition of the News out now

THE March 15 edition of New Norfolk and Derwent Valley News is the biggest local newspaper in 20 years. Editor Damian Bester said additional pages had been included in the latest issue at no extra cost to readers. The paper will be in the shops tomorrow (Friday) but it is available now at

“This bumper 40-page edition of our usually 28-page paper still costs $3 and still comes with a voucher for a free coffee from a local cafe, so it’s incredible value. You can get the biggest-ever edition of the Derwent Valley’s leading local paper and a free coffee for just $3. You won’t get that anywhere else,” Bester said.

“The additional pages have been included so that we can give outstanding coverage to the candidates in the upcoming state election without robbing readers of all the other regular features they’ve come to expect from their favourite local newspaper,” he said.

Also included in the 12 additional pages are samples of three options for a new puzzle page for younger readers, who are invited to vote for the one they would like to make permanent in the paper.

The free coffee (or other hot beverage) is obtained by taking the coupon on page 15 of the new edition to the Eagle Snack Bar on Hamilton Rd, New Norfolk.
