New photos: Collapsed Bashan Rd bridge

NEW photos showing the extent of the damage to the Bashan Rd bridge have been shared with the readers of New Norfolk and Derwent Valley News. The suspension bridge crosses the Ouse River near Waddamana and was found in a collapsed condition yesterday (Saturday) morning.

Ellendale stockman Max Jenkins passed through the area later in the day and supplied several photos for publication. His photos clearly show the collapsed state of the bridge, which is said to be about 90 years old. Several photos sourced from Google Maps show how the bridge looked last year.

Police have suggested motorists find an alternative route, which for some motorists, might be the concrete ford immediately adjacent to the bridge.
