Crash takes out Lachlan power supply

LACHLAN residents are likely to be without power for most of today following a crash on Lachlan Rd this morning (Wednesday). At about 9.30am police advised that the road was blocked near 190 Lachlan Rd where a truck had hit a power pole. The road has since reopened.

Emergency services were soon on the scene, including the Lachlan Fire Brigade. No injuries were reported in the single-vehicle crash and first responders said it appeared that a truck trailer had hit a pole and brought down the power lines.

TasNetworks advises that 408 customers at Lachlan are without electricity and the restoration time is still to be confirmed. The company advises customers to check for an update on its website this evening.
