Works planned to smooth out Marlborough Rd

MOTORISTS have been asked to allow extra time if travelling via the Marlborough Rd between now and the middle of next month. The Department of State Growth will be grading and resheeting the unsealed sections of the road, which travels between Bronte Park in the Derwent Valley and Miena in the Central Highlands.

“The works will smooth and reshape Marlborough Rd, helping to prevent potholes, hazards and water pooling,” a spokesperson said. This is expected to provide a smoother and safer experience for road users.

“The works will take place from late April to mid-May 2024, between the working hours of 7.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Lane closures and a reduced speed limit will be in place at all times and road users should allow 15 minutes extra travel time. Speed limits will remain lowered until the works are complete,” the spokesperson said.

“While we will make every effort to keep to scheduled work dates, these works are extremely weather dependent and subject to change. Please remember to follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs and keep to the posted speed limit.”
