Player milestone
THOSE at Tynwald Park on Sunday afternoon witnessed what community club football and junior sports is all about. During the Under 14 Girls’ game a young Eagle who has been playing for two and a bit seasons scored her first goal when she was on the receiving end of an unselfish handball close to goal after which she showed great game awareness to turn around and kick the goal. This was a great occasion for the team as this player is known for not giving up and doing all the team things behind play to help her teammates by laying a good tackle or providing a shepherd. When the goal was scored the moment wasn’t lost on any of the players, who made their way from all over the ground to congratulate her. Well done to the Under 14G team for showing first-hand what being part of a community sporting group is all about.
