NNDFC game day notes – Round 8, May 25, 2024

NEW NORFOLK DISTRICT FOOTBALL CLUB
CLUB NOTES – MAY 25
: MULGA CLAYTON CUP

SENIOR NOTES

Today we welcome the Claremont Magpies to Boyer Oval for the Mulga Clayton Cup. Following the thrill of our recent win over the Hobart Tigers, followed by a 104-point loss to the Lindisfarne and a competitive 34-point loss to Sorell, we are looking to secure our second win of the season against a rebuilding Claremont side.

There is obviously a significant difference between the top teams in the competition and the bottom teams. The young Eagles have shown improvement so far this season and will be eager to get another win under their belts. It won’t be an easy game, but with a good team effort we expect to see a good performance from the boys.

RESERVES NOTES

The Reserves should be close to full strength following a sound performance against the ladder-leaders Sorell last weekend. The Claremont Magpies are in a rebuilding phase and are currently struggling. It gives our boys a good opportunity to get another win on the board today.

WOMEN’S NOTES

Last weekend it was great to see Dannielle Clifford play her 50th club game and Tiarna Ford kick her 200th career goal. Congratulations and well done. Today, the Lady Eagles line up against equal ladder-leaders, the Claremont Magpies.

Both teams are undefeated this season, so the game should be of a high standard with plenty to play for. The Eagles have looked impressive in all games this season, but this is the biggest test so far. The winner will sit one game clear on top of the ladder with bragging rights and a firm eye on playing finals football.
