Reserves hit form against Dodges Ferry

By WAYNE WALKER
| THE Eagles’ Reserves team had a great win on Saturday and displayed more power in the midfield with players such as Josh Eyles, Zane Lester, Andrew Minchen and Mitch Hay rotating in the engine room. SEE THE PHOTOS

After an even first term, the Eagles broke away from the Dodges Ferry Sharks in the second term to lead by 40 points at half-time and continued their good work in the third quarter, extending the margin to 59 points at three-quarter time.

It also helps if you have a big key forward near the big sticks which was Ben Lovell who returned from suspension and showed his skill not only in the air but also at ground level which resulted in four goals. Lovell’s experience and skill was a highlight when the Eagles went deep into their forward line.

Eagle youngsters Riley Triffett had plenty of the footy along with tall utility player Tyron Triffett and forward Nick Ransley who kicked two goals each for the Eagles. Wayne Cook has added some grunt around the contest and is handy around goal and Bailey Wheeler continues to be Mr Versatile playing in defence or on the forward line.

We will look on with great interest in the coming weeks to see where the Reserves sit within the competition and push for a finals berth.
