A REUNION of old players, past officials and current sponsors of the New Norfolk District Football Club was held in the new pavilion at Boyer Oval during last Saturday’s game against Cygnet, which was the final home game of the season.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to old players and officials as well as club sponsors and fundraisers. Among those present were 1974 TANFL William Leitch Medallist Tony Browning, 1981 William Leitch Medallist Robbie Dykes and 1993 NNDFC Les Hepper Medallist Paul Humphrey. Also in attendance was Nick Cracknell, former TFL chief commissioner, NNDFC past president and former mayor of the the Derwent Valley Council.
Former senior coach Craig Stevenson was there, along with past players including John Windsor, Troy White, Adrian Graham, Tony Adams, Stephen Dixon, Michael Booth and Michael Rowbottom among others.
While the on-field result didn’t go the Eagles’ way, many old victories were relived in the pavilion, which was completed during the season and is being put to good use as the Eagles’ Nest on home game days. During summer the venue will be the home of the Molesworth Cricket Club.
