Hotel chimney fire doused

Police probe Maydena incident

TWO men have been hospitalised following an incident at Maydena earlier today. Police say a 53-year-old man suffered several stab wounds to the abdomen and arm but his injuries were not considered life threatening.A 42-year-old man is also being treated for a knife injury and is assisting with police enquiries.

Police ping roadworks speedsters

POLICE issued nine speeding tickets to drivers passing through roadworks near Hamilton early last week. Sergeant Terry McCulloch of Tasmania Police said nine speeding infringements were issue at a roadworks site on the Lyell Hwy, Hamilton, on Tuesday morning. The alleged infringements were detected in a period of 90 minutes.
